Lake Erie Monsters defeat Hershey Bears in Game 1 of the Calder Cup Finals

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Lake Erie Monsters defeated the Hershey Bears, 4-1, in Game 1 of the Calder Cup Finals.

The Bears took an early lead in the first period, and held off the Monsters until Daniel Zaar tied things up during the second period.

Trent Vogelhuber added another goal for the Monsters in the middle of the third period. But the Monsters didn’t stop there.

Zaar scored once again, giving the Monsters a 3-1 lead with less than 5 minutes left, and that was shortly followed by another goal from Markus Hannikainen.

Game 2 is in Hershey on June 3.  Games 6 and 7, if necessary will be in Hershey on June 14 and June 17.

Games 3, 4 and 5 will be at Quicken Loans Arena on June 6, 11 and 12.
