VALLEY CITY, Ohio — Not only are they cute, but it looks like they really get the job done. Goats are clearing some people’s yards in Northeast Ohio.
A local couple — Heather and James Kovach — started a business called “Haulin’ Goats,” and it’s just as it sounds: You can rent a goat to help get rid of all that unwanted vegetation– including pesky poison ivy.
Heather Kovach tells FOX 8 the adorable animals were originally pets; the business idea was sparked by friends who would send her articles about goats clearing people’s properties.
So, last summer, “Haulin’ Goats” was created and Heather says business is booming.
The company’s website says:
“We bring our goats to your property, set up a temporary fence around the area that needs to be cleared, and let them do what they do naturally. We take them home in the evening and return as needed until the job is done!”
The goats are currently working on a home in Lodi. The before-and-after photos above show their handiwork at a house in Medina. Heather says the work was completed by four goats in one day.
