EUCLID, Ohio-- Two suspects are in custody after police say their car rammed into a Euclid police cruiser.

It happened Friday morning on Coulter Avenue between East 228th and East 222nd streets.

Police said two suspects are facing felonious assault on an officer after the crash. They were chasing the suspects when the driver turned down Coulter Avenue, which ended up being a dead end.

A Euclid police SUV was stopped in the middle of the street so the suspect was trapped. That's when police say he purposely slammed into the SUV.

The officer was taken to the hospital, but it expected to be OK.

This is unrelated to another incident in Euclid. Police said an officer-duty officer fired shots at armed suspects at Richmond Hills Apartments.
