Do you find yourself Googling certain words to make sure you are spelling them correctly?

As the Scripps National Spelling Bee wrapped up, Google Trends released the top “how to spell” searches for words by state.

The word people Google the most in Ohio when it comes to a spell-check is banana.

In Indiana, it’s desert; in Illinois, it’s appreciate.

And, here’s one that may surprise you: In Massachusetts, Massachusetts is the most-searched “how to spell” word.

By the way, it was the third straight year of double winners at the National Spelling Bee.

Nihar Janga, 11, of Austin, Texas, and Jairam Hathwar, 13, of Corning, New York, were declared co-champions on Thursday.
