Idaho teen takes his terminally ill mom to his prom

IDAHO – An Idaho teen took his mom with him to prom last week and they had a great time.

According to ABC News, he wanted to bring her as she continues her battle with terminal cancer.

Kerry Huffaker was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer just a few months ago. She was given 9-20 months to live.

He asked her after one of her radiation sessions. He opened a box of donuts that said ‘Will you go to prom with me?’

“My reaction was, ‘You don’t want to go to prom with your old, bald mom. You’ll be embarrassed.’ And he said,’No I won’t. I’ll have the prettiest date there.'”

They shared a special dance to ‘The Dance’ by Garth Brooks.

“I try not to focus too much on the future. I try to live today as best as I can, but [thought], ‘Who’s going to dance with my son when the mom is supposed to dance with the groom at his wedding day?'”
