MCKINNEY, Texas — They say everything is bigger in Texas — especially the high school sports stadiums.

Voters in the town of McKinney, which is just north of Dallas, approved the building of a 12-thousand seat stadium with a price tag of nearly $63 million.

That makes it the most expensive high school football stadium in the country.

The money is coming from a $220 million bond.

While it’s the most expensive stadium — others in the area come close.

The new stadium will be built just four miles away from a $60 million dollar stadium in Allen, Texas.

And in Katy, Texas a stadium with a similar price tag will open next year.
