Carlie had not been spotted since last week when her uncle picked her up from school.

A endangered child alert was issued the day after she went missing, it was upgraded to an Amber Alert shortly after.

Simpson previously had custody of Carlie, but custodial rights were recently awarded to her father. The school system had not been updated on the change of custody, which is why Simpson was allowed to pick her up from school.

There is no information about where Carlie and Simpson were found.
