CLEVELAND, Ohio– The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms that six Cleveland police recruits failed the written portion of their final exam.

This class of Cleveland police cadets is the first to train under state troopers. The patrol says the new officers will get another chance to pass the written exam.

However, already six out of the original class of 50 Cleveland recruits did not finish the academy.

Those who did finish are expected to graduate from the patrol academy at the end of this week. A patrol spokesman says those who failed the written test will also graduate although their retest won’t happen until later this month. The patrol says all of the recruits will have a little additional training in Cleveland before being sworn in by the city.
