WHITMER, Ohio – Josh Close knew his dad and sister would be home soon, but when he heard their plane was delayed, he went on with his day.

According to WTOL, their plane was never delayed, it was all just a part of the plan.

“I didn’t know what to expect really, I was just excited about coming and watching him play a ballgame for a change,” said Mark Close, Josh’s dad.

“I was so excited, all I wanted to do was hug my brother. I was so excited,” said Asia Close, Josh’s sister.

Josh ran out to center field, but his coach called a timeout before the first pitch was even thrown.

That’s when Josh got the surprise of his life.

“I told them, I was like this is the first time I’ve ever cried on the field before. I was just in total shock. It was awesome,” said Josh.
