FINDLAY, Ohio — A northern Ohio man has been charged with murder in the death last month of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son.

The Findlay Courier reports that 28-year-old Brent Houdeshell, of Arlington, was charged and jailed Friday on an arrest warrant. Authorities say Houdeshell is suspected of killing Breydon Ferrell at a Findlay apartment March 31. Breydon was pronounced dead at a hospital not long after rescue crews responded to a call about the toddler being unresponsive.

The newspaper reports that police were told Breydon fell out of his crib. A coroner has ruled the death a homicide but hasn’t said how the child might have died.

Authorities say Houdeshell and Breydon’s mother were in a relationship.

It’s unclear whether Houdeshell has an attorney.
