CLEVELAND - The host committee of the Republican National Convention wants to see Clevelanders welcoming the world as thousands head to town in July for the convention.

On Saturday,  they held a casting call for northeast Ohioans who want to appear on temporary signs that will be hung on street poles downtown and in University Circle during the convention. The campaign is titled “We the people welcome you to Cleveland.”

The first 200 people who showed up had their pictures taken. About 50 of those pictures will be used eventually.
