SEVEN HILLS - A car careened into a home’s living room on Beacon Hill Court in Seven Hills around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The driver suffered minor injuries but declined any treatment, according to the Seven Hills Fire Department.

A fire official told Fox 8 reporter Matt Wright that the driver accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The homeowner said his sister-in-law had just pulled into the driveway to visit when she crashed through the home’s front wall. He said he was upstairs at the time, and he first thought a neighboring home had exploded. No one inside the home was injured.

Neighbors who witnessed the crash jumped in to help free the driver.

“I was trying to keep her calm. Pretty much everybody in the neighborhood pitched in,” neighbor Lynn Suredam said. “I kept saying the whole time, ‘it's just a house, everybody's ok.’ That’s most important.”

A tow truck pulled the Kia from the house within an hour. The Seven Hills Fire Department called in a technical response team, which put up supports to prevent collapse.
