Lusso Cosmetics: Expiration Dates
We don’t eat expired food, so why should you put expired makeup on your face? Did you even know that make up has an expiration date? We headed to Lusso Cosmetics on Madison Avenue in Lakewood to find out more.
Lou’s tips to know if your makeup is expired:
- Mascara (regular or waterproof), liquid, pencil or gel eyeliners: 3 to 6 months depending on how often it is used (always toss out dry mascara—never add water to extend its life)
- Cream, Liquid or Stick Foundations or Concealers: 1 year
- Powder-based products (including mineral makeup): 2-3 years
- Lipsticks, Lip Gloss, & Lip Pencils: 2-3 years if lipstick smells like a crayon throw it out
