YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio– The manhunt for a fugitive accused of shooting at police ended Friday afternoon in Youngstown.

Luis Cruz-Ramos, 30, was wanted for the 2013 rape of a 14-year-old in Puerto Rico.

Police spotted Cruz-Ramos Wednesday night in Campbell, prompting a chase. U.S. Marshals said he shot at a Youngstown police cruiser during the pursuit. The bullet struck the windshield.

On Friday, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force caught up with the suspect at Lowell Avenue and Rush Boulevard. While officers were chasing him on foot, Cruz-Ramos pulled out a weapon, Marshals said.

Officers shot him once in the leg. He was arrested then taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.

No officers were injured.
