VALLEY VIEW, Ohio — As winter finally turns into spring, the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter expects to be getting in lots and lots of dogs.

It’s the perfect time to stop in and see what new furry canine friends there are to be adopted!

If you just want to help, the shelter will also have a new volunteer orientation 10 a.m. April 9.

That orientation is about one hour long and covers the shelter’s visions and missions along with various programs, how the community can get involved and different areas of shelter life volunteers can help with.

You can also meet some of the resident dogs at the Pucks N Paws game at the Quicken Loans Arena on April 10 at 5 p.m.  Tickets are available through the shelter’s website, www.cuyahogadogs.com or their Facebook page.

A portion of the tickets sales benefit their Dick Goddard’s Best friends’ Medical Relief Fund that serves to both medically treat and rehabilitate the strays of Cuyahoga County.

**Last week’s featured dogs, Brewster, Vans and Astor, are still available for adoption. Click here for info**

The shelter is located at 9500 Sweet Valley Drive.
