Abbey Avenue in Cleveland reopened after bomb squad called

CLEVELAND– Abbey Avenue, which links Cleveland’s Tremont and Ohio City neighborhoods, was closed Friday afternoon.

A suspicious device was found at West 14th Street and Abbey, near construction on the Innerbelt Bridge, said Cleveland Fire Department spokesman Larry Gray. The bomb squad and hazmat teams were called to the scene.

The road was reopened shortly before 4 p.m.

Fire officials would not disclose what exactly the suspicious device was.
