SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — A Maple Heights man has been arrested after reportedly threatening a female victim through social media site Tumblr.

According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Dashawn Goins, 37, faces charges of extortion.

Authorities say Goins demanded specific sex acts and/or $800 from the victim. He said if she didn’t comply with his demands, he would notify her friends and family about a pornographic website which contained photographs of her.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation and began to monitor the texts and phone calls received by the victim.

On March 24, authorities say Goins demanded a meeting with the victim in Northfield Center Township. At around 11 a.m., he was met at the predetermined meeting location by sheriff’s deputies.

He was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail. He could face further charges.
