Presidential primaries come to Ohio: Delegates by state

CLEVELAND– Six states, including Ohio, headed to the polls on Tuesday in the presidential primary.

The Buckeye state’s winner-take-all format benefited Gov. John Kasich, who needed the delegates to keep his campaign alive.

The Ohio governor has 136, Donald Trump has 619 and Ted Cruz has 394. It takes 1,237 to secure the GOP nomination. Marco Rubio, who has 167 delegates, suspended his campaign.

For the Democrats, Hillary Clinton leads with 1,488 delegates while Bernie Sanders has 704. It requires 2,383 to get the nomination.
