By winning the Republican primary in Ohio, John Kasich picked up all 66 of the state's delegates to the Republican National Convention.
"To have people believe in you and to believe that you can bring people together and strengthen our country...thank you," Kasich said in a speech after the projected win was announced. "I represent you and it is my job to look at these situations and these problems and to listen to you.”
Now he has to do is win 91 percent of the remaining delegates and he can clinch the nomination before the convention this summer.
“Tomorrow, I’m going to Philadelphia and then I’m going all over the country," Kasich said.
Donald Trump still leads the race for delegates, with 619. Ted Cruz has 394 delegates, Kasich has 136 and Rubio left the race with 167.
It takes 1,237 delegates to win the Republican nomination for president.
