NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio -- Police are looking for a woman, caught on security video, pushing a bike in the snow shortly before 7 on Friday morning.

Moments later, detectives say, the woman left the bike in the parking lot of a gas station and approached a woman who was pumping gas.

The suspect, who had her face covered with a scarf, stood near the victim’s car, while the woman finished getting gas.

“When she got done pumping her gas, the female suspect got in the passenger door,” said North Ridgeville Detective Greg Petek. He added, the victim did not notice the suspect until she was already in the car.

Petek said the victim was startled and ordered the suspect to get out of her car.

“The suspect then pulled a gun, put it at the victim’s side and demanded cash,” Petek said. “She then ordered the victim to drive her to an area a short distance away.”

The suspect was dropped off near Jefferson Avenue. The victim then drove to a nearby McDonald’s and called police.

“She was distraught, very upset,” said Petek. “This is something you don’t expect, so early in the morning.”

Police said the suspect left a key piece of evidence at the scene: her purple bike. If anyone knows anything about the robbery, please call North Ridgeville police.
