Bullet from gunfight in Lorain goes into home, strikes 6-year-old girl

LORAIN, Ohio — Lorain police are investigating after a bullet went through a home and struck a 6-year-old girl in the thigh.

Police say on Monday, just before 7 p.m., they received several calls about a gunfight on G St. When officers responded, they found several witnesses; two suspect vehicles were found nearby.

An investigation revealed that several shots had been fired with at least one round hitting a home in the area. The bullet went through a front door and hit a little girl. Thankfully, the steel door slowed the projectile and the child suffered only minor injuries.

Police arrested Shawndell Partin; he was charged with several criminal offenses. More arrests are expected.
