SULLIVAN, OHIO - Just one month after a Canton police dog lost his life in the line of duty, some local students decided that their county's police dog needed some extra protection.

Students at the Black River Middle School in Ashland County held a dance to raise money to buy police dog Meeko a vest, so she'd have the same protection as her human partner, Sgt. Tim Kitts of the Ashland County Sheriff's Department.

Fox 8's Jack Shea was there when Meeko and Sgt. Kitts visited the school to say thank you.
