WASHINGTON, DC - It was a very special showing for the WGN series "Underground:" a screening at the White House!

The show tells the story of the underground railroad, which was heavily used by escaping slaves to head north during the Civil War era.

As part of a Black History Month event, the White House screened the show Monday. Members of the cast and crew also participated in a panel discussion. Executive producer John Legend says that he is especially drawn to the contemporary music that the show uses.
