CLEVELAND– The newly-acquired Channing Frye passed his physical and will be active for the Cavaliers Monday night.
The Cavs play the Detroit Pistons at Quicken Loans Arena at 7 p.m.
Cleveland got Frye from the Orlando Magic as part of a deal that sent longtime Cav Anderson Varejao to Portland. He was cut by the Trail Blazers, then signed by the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
Frye, 32, had been with the Magic since 2014. This season, the 6-foot-11 power forward is averaging 5.2 points per game and 3.2 rebounds.
The Cavaliers beat the Thunder on Sunday 115-92. They are 40-14 and first the Eastern Conference.
