CLEVELAND - Fox 8 anchor Gabe Spiegel was attending Thursday night's Lake Erie Monsters game against the Chicago Wolves. He was just sitting there, minding his own business and cheering on the home team.

And then he got picked to play garbage can pong. On the ice.

His mission: to sink three volleyballs into the garbage cans within 30 seconds.

Ever the trooper, Gabe got ready for the countdown, and then started shooting.

He lipped out on the first shot, and after 10 seconds, he sank his first shot. With 12 seconds left...his second shot went in. And with under 5 seconds left, he made the final and winning shot!

Gabe let loose with a fist pump and a big celebration...and then promptly fell on the ice.

You can watch Gabe's escapades in the video box, above.

And since at Fox 8, we believe in covering a story from all the angles, keep watching to see Gabe from a number of different camera angles. Fall and all.

A tip: the slow motion replay begins at about 2:10 in...the slow motion fall starts at 2:27.  Just a hint for your viewing pleasure!

Way to go Gabe....you are always a good sport, on or off the ice.
