WAKEMAN, OH – A 48-year-old Wakeman man died from a crash that his 11-year-old son survived.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that Joe Milks, Jr was driving a pick-up truck on State Route 13 when the truck veered left of center, left the roadway and struck a tree. The accident happened at 10 p.m. Saturday evening.

Even though he was wearing a seat belt, Milks died from his injuries at the scene of the crash.

Milks’ son was also in the truck when it crashed. He was wearing his seat belt as well and had only minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation, but the Patrol tells Fox 8 that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this accident.
