WHEELERSBURG, Ohio  — Authorities say a southern Ohio teenager was fatally struck by a truck while being pulled on a sled behind an all-terrain vehicle.

The State Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Ethan Pauley of Wheelersburg died in the crash that occurred after 10 p.m. Friday.

Sgt. J.R. Howard of the patrol’s Portsmouth post says Pauley was sledding along a two-lane county road in Wheelersburg when a Chevy Silverado struck him.

Howard said the truck’s driver failed to yield at a traffic light and hit the sled. The driver didn’t stop at the scene but was found several hours later by authorities.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.

Howard said a couple inches of snow had fallen at the time of the crash as a winter storm moved through the area.
