Public memorial service being held for fallen Canton K-9 officer Jethro

People from across the country have gathered in Canton to remember beloved K-9 officer Jethro.  Jethro passed away this weekend after being shot as officers responded to an alarm at Fisher Foods on Harrison Avenue early Saturday morning.  Several departments were at Jethro’s memorial including some from New York City, Toledo, Warren, and Weathersfield. Other K-9s were there as well.

Actor Alan Rickman dies at age 69

The man who played Professor Severus Snape in the “Harry Potter” movies has passed away. Alan Rickman died after a short battle with cancer. Rickman’s film debut was in “Die Hard.” He was 69 years old.

Someone in Cleveland scores $1 million Powerball jackpot

No one in Ohio won the more than $1 billion Powerball jackpot; those lucky people were in California, Florida and Tennessee.

But, a $1 million Powerball ticket was sold right here in Cleveland.

According to the Ohio Lottery, a winning $1 million Powerball ticket was sold at Erieview Towers News in the Galleria, 1301 E. 9th St., Cleveland.

Two other $1 million tickets were sold in Ohio; one in Toledo, and one in Centerville.
