NEW YORK CITY — Touching video posted to Facebook shows a subway rider in New York give a shivering, shirtless man the shirt off of his own back.

Lazaro Nolasco told New York Daily News that he got on the subway train about 10 p.m. Friday night after visiting his girlfriend and then witnessed the exchange.

He said the shirtless man was shivering and “his body looked sick.” Nolasco started recording on his cell phone as another man took off his own shirt and offered it to the shirtless man.

The man struggled with the shirt, so the Good Samaritan gently helped him put it on before giving the man a black hat to wear.

Nolasco tells New York Daily News that he isn’t sure what happened to the two men, as he eventually got off the train, leaving them behind.

He posted video of the kind act on Facebook, and it has been viewed more than 12 million times.
