It’s a day of service, remembrance and education.

Monday, January 18th is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There are many events around our community to help residents recognize it. In addition, many area museums are offering free admission in honor of the day.

Here’s a list of the events. If you have an event you’d like to see included on this list, email adomeck@fox8.com with the name of the event, the time, the location and a link to your organization’s website. Please include MLK Day event in the subject line.

Visit the Cleveland History Center and Research Library to join in our celebration of the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. through minds-on activities. We will ask guests to consider and answer the question, “What is your cause?”

The 36th annual concert celebrating the spirit of Dr. King’s life, leadership, and vision in music, song, and community recognition.

UNIVERSITY CIRCLE MUSEUMS AND INSTITUTIONS
Beginning January 16 and running throughout the week, many of University Circle’s museums and institutions will offer free or discounted admission, and special activities to commemorate Dr. King.
On Monday, January 18, University Circle Inc. will provide a FREE shuttle bus to take visitors to the participating organizations in University Circle from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

WANT TO VOLUNTEER FOR MLK DAY?
HandsOn Northeast Ohio (NEO) will be hosting a day of service projects across Northeast Ohio in honor of Dr. King’s legacy of service.   They are looking for volunteers for a variety of activities on  MLK Day and the week leading up to it.
