David Bowie passes away at 69

david bowieDavid Bowie, whose ground-breaking sound and chameleon-like ability to reinvent himself made him a pop music fixture for more than four decades, has died after an 18-month battle with cancer.

It was Cleveland listeners and a local radio station that launched Bowie into the American spotlight, and he’s credited as being the foundation for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Services set for Canton K9 officer killed in line of duty

Services for Jethro, the Canton Police Department K9 officer killed in the line of duty over the weekend, have been set for noon on Thursday. Police for a burglary suspect, when the suspect fired several shots at Jethro, hitting him int he face, shoulder and neck.

Charges have been filed against the suspect accused of shooting him.

It’s getting cold not just here in Northeast Ohio — but also in Buffalo! A photo was taken of one car parked along Lake Erie there. It appears to be frozen solid in layers of ice.

The adverse weather conditions closed schools in Buffalo and delayed several schools here in Northeast Ohio.
