ITALY – A Florida woman’s family and friends are remembering her back at home while Italian officials investigate her death.

According to WTEV, 35-year-old Ashley Olsen was found with scratch marks and bruises around her neck on Saturday.

Her friends describe her as outgoing and a big part of their community.

“Ashley Olsen had an infectious personality and a smile that could light up a room. We met when I was just thirteen and it was like I had known her my whole life already,” said friend Kate Linser Smith.

She also said Olsen was brave and walked her own path.

“Ashley lived life like it was an adventure. She loved art, music and especially fashion and was a notorious trend setter amongst our group of friends,” said Smith. “Ashley was loving, kind and formed unbreakable friendships with all who were lucky to have known her. My heart goes out to her family during this terrible time of grief. Ashley Olsen’s candle burned bright and the world is a bit dimmer now without her in it.”

Police say Olsen had been living in Florence for awhile and her death is currently being investigated as a homicide.

Her boyfriend was questioned, but police have not named him as a suspect.
