Browns interview Carolina defensive coordinator Sean McDermott

BEREA, Ohio – The Cleveland Browns interviewed Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott on Sunday for the head coaching position.

McDermott is the sixth candidate to meet with the Browns since they began searching for a new head coach.

On Saturday New England defensive coordinator Matt Patricia was interviewed. Before that, Dallas secondary coach Jerome Henderson, Jacksonville assistant head coach/offensive line coach Doug Marrone, Detroit defensive coordinator Teryl Austin and Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase were interviewed as well.

McDermott has been working in the NFL since 1999 and has been with the Panthers since 2011.
