Summit County Common Pleas Judge Alison McCarty sentenced Justin Snyder, 30, to six years in prison. Snyder pleaded guilty to two counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a juvenile and two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material.

“You are every parent’s worst nightmare,” McCarty said. “These girls were young, trusting and vulnerable. You took advantage of that for your own sexual satisfaction. The only appropriate sentence in this case is prison.”

The Summit County Prosecutor’s Office said Snyder created fake social media profiles for a modeling agency, and posed as a photographer and talent scout in July. He contacted girls between 13 and 16 on Facebook and offered them large sums of money, McCarty said.

“Mr. Snyder preyed on young girls to satisfy his own perverted thoughts,” said Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. “Using social media, he promised money to get nude pictures of pre-teen girls. This is a good reminder for parents to check their child’s cell phone and social media accounts for predators like Mr. Snyder.”

Snyder will be designated as a Tier II sex offender and must register with the sheriff’s office every six months for 25 years, after his release.
