ORRVILLE, Ohio -- Police say a man admitted to shooting a 24-year-old mother to death in front of their two young children Thursday.

The suspect, LaReece KeSean "Wally" Woods, was arraigned Friday and issued $1 million bond.

The shooting happened at just before 7 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of East Paradise Street.

Police were called to the area to investigate reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim, Emily Young, in the driver's seat of a silver 2013 Kia sport utility vehicle. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say Young had engaged in conversation with Woods, the father of her two children, who were in the backseat of the SUV at the time. There was also a witness in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

At the conclusion of the discussion, Woods allegedly shot Young multiple times at close range.

Police say Woods confessed to shooting Young. A firearm believed to have been used in the shooting was also recovered.

Emily Young's cousin created a Go Fund Me page for funeral expenses and also for Young's three daughters, 6-month-old twins and a 2-year-old.
