ELYRIA, Ohio -- The Lorain County Sheriff's Office is searching for an inmate who escaped through the window of the Lorain/Medina Community Based Correctional Facility on Murray Ridge Road in Elyria.

An inmate at the facility alerted employees that another inmate, Gregory Lee Tillman, barricaded himself in his room. He used a padlock to shatter the window and climb out. He was able to getaway undetected.

The Lorain County Sheriff's Office used a dog to track Tillman to the parking lot of nearby Murray Ridge School. That's where the dog lost his track.

Tillman was last seen wearing a white shirt and dark blue pants. He is 5'7" and weighs 170 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Mike Willis at the Lorain Medina CBCF at (440) 281-9708.

According to their website, the Lorain/Medina CBCF provides the Common Pleas Courts of the two counties an economical, local alternative to state prison for adult, felony offenders.
