In the words of Sarah McLachlan: “I can’t watch them….it just kills me.”
And isn’t that how many of us feel as well when McLachlan’s infamous ASPCA commercial comes on? You know the one: her mournful voice singing the song “Angel,”paired with images of homeless and abused dogs and cats looking directly into the camera with their big, sad eyes.
Well, according to McLachlan, making that commercial was brutal, but in the end, it was all for a good cause.
She recently told told the video blog “Makers” that the ad has raised over $30 million for the ASPCA.
It’s also brought her a new fan base among animal lovers!
