KRASNOYARSK, Russia – A Russian man is suing the maker of the popular video game “Fallout 4”, claiming that he became so addicted to the game, he lost his marriage and his job.

The man, whose name hasn’t been released, says that he never knew the game would be so addictive, leading him to a three-week gaming session. During this time, he missed work and got fired, which led to his wife leaving him. He says his health was compromised as well, because he lost sleep and didn’t eat during the time.

Multiple news reports say that he is suing Bethesda Game Studios and the local Russian distributor of the game for 500,000 rubles – which is about $7,000 in American money – for emotional distress.

This is the first lawsuit of this kind in Russia.
