OLD BRIDGE, New Jersey– A little girl who was worried she might get in trouble with Santa and ruin Christmas after her Elf on the Shelf fell on the floor, picked up the phone and called for help.

NBC New York says 7-year-old Isabella, of New Jersey, called 911 in a panic.

Dispatcher: “Hello?”

Isabella: “It’s Isabella.”

Dispatcher: “Hi, Isabella. Why are you calling 911?”

Isabella: “Don’t come to my house! Don’t!”

Dispatcher: “Okay.”

Isabella: “I was trying to call my dad, but I called you on accident.”

Dispatcher: “You can just say you made a mistake, okay?”

Police came to the home to check on Isabella. That’s when her mom woke up from a nap and found her daughter crying.

Police were very understanding about the call. “Isabella apologized. She touched the Elf on a Shelf. She won’t call 911 again.”
