NEW RUSSIA TOWNSHIP – The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people for burglary Wednesday after a neighbor noticed a suspicious car in a nearby driveway.

Shannon Matheny of Elyria, 25, and Chad Blackburn of Michigan, 28, were both taken into custody.

The neighbor was able to give authorities enough information about the car to apprehend the suspects and link them to more crimes.

Both suspects are accused in several other burglaries in the area and the vehicle they were driving fits the description of a vehicle seen near previous crimes in nearby locations.

The other burglaries are currently under investigation while the Sheriff’s Office waits on the results of evidence collected.

Both suspects have been charged with burglary and theft and are being held on $250,000 dollars bond.
