BALLVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio– The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a 49-year-old man died in a car crash on Friday.

The crash happened at the intersection of Tiffin and McGormley roads in Ballville Township at about noon.

The highway patrol said Dan A. Krienke, 49, came to a stop at a stop sign, but didn’t yield for a pick-up truck and went into the intersection. Krienke’s car was hit and landed in a field. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was taken to ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont and released.

According to troopers, alcohol was a factor. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
