CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH – A pair of schools in the Woodridge school system were placed on lockdown today after a nearby incident.

Walter Davis, superintendent of the schools, tells Fox 8 that at around 2 p.m., Cuyahoga Falls police received a call that there was a shooting down the street from the schools. To be safe, the high school and the middle school, which share a campus, were both locked down for about 20 minutes.

The shooting itself occurred after a fight between two men. The suspect fled the scene and police were pursuing him.  The victim was conscious and breathing and was able to give police a description of the suspect.

Police have the suspect in custody. Charges against him are pending as the investigation continues.
