SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio-- The Shaker Heights Police Department has released officer body camera and 911 calls from a weekend shooting.

Officers were called to a house on Ludlow Road at about 1:40 a.m. Sunday. The resident told police her alarm was triggered and someone was in her garage.

Shaker Heights police said they confronted a man inside the garage and an officer shot him three times.

"There was an unfortunate set of circumstances," Shaker Heights Prosecutor C. Randolph Keller said. He said it evolved rapidly in a small space.

The 51-year-old suspect was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police officials said they do not know the extent of his injuries.

Police would not say if the suspect had a gun, but Keller said he had a screwdriver.

The officer, Kevin Ishler, was placed on paid administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
