CLEVELAND- A Euclid man was sentenced on multiple child pornography charges on Wednesday.

Robert L. Santini III pleaded guilty to 22 counts, including pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, on Sept. 15.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold sentenced him to eight years in prison. He will have to register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years.

“Robert Santini defended his actions to investigators by telling them he hadn’t had sexual contact or kidnapped any kids yet,” assistant prosecuting attorney Carl Sullivan said in a news release.

“But every one of the children in the images and videos he shared were subjected to despicable and horrifying abuse. For the next eight years, we don’t have to worry about this sick individual preying on our youngest and most vulnerable citizens.”

Santini was arrested in July following an investigation by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, investigators found child porn on his tablet computer. Much of the files involved the sexual assault of children under the age of 2.
