EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio – Divers with  the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation headed into the water at Forest Hill Park Wednesday, despite the constant rain and blustery wind.

The agents were helping Cleveland Heights police locate a weapon believed to have been used in a homicide at a bar last year.

Several suspects have already been arrested and convicted in the case, that claimed the life of Arrion Smiley, who was shot as she stood outside the bar.

Cleveland Heights detectives say even though the case is closed they would still like to have all the evidence.

“We have a couple metal detectors we are using,” said Dennis Sweet, BCI special agent supervisor.

Divers were not able to locate a weapon, and may return to the area in the future.
