SEVEN HILLS, Ohio  - An undercover narcotics investigation by the Cleveland Police Narcotics Unit and the U.S. Postal Service resulted in three arrests Monday night.

Only Fox 8 cameras were there as the men were handcuffed and taken into custody outside a home on Broadview Road in Seven Hills.

Detectives say among them is Scott Claussen, 40, of Brooklyn. According to the city of Brooklyn, Claussen is the current Law Director there.

Claussen is also running for Mayor in the November election.

Detectives also arrested Bryan Byrne, 40, of Parma. Officials say Byrne is a practicing attorney and the son of current Parma Heights Mayor, Mike Byrne.

According to the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office, both Claussen and Byrne were booked into the county jail Monday night in connection with drug abuse charges.

Fox 8's Melissa Reid spoke to Brooklyn Mayor Richard Balbier.

Balbier declined to go on camera but he said he was devastated to hear about Claussen's arrest.

As for the third person under arrest, police are not identifying him because he is part of an ongoing federal investigation.

Fox 8 reached out to the city of Parma Heights for comment concerning Byrne's arrest.

Phone calls were not yet returned.
