AKRON, Ohio--  It's no fun being a little kid in the hospital. Sometimes you need a hero to come to the rescue.

Iron Man, Batman, Captain America, The Flash and a ton of heroes all rappelled down the side of Akron Children's Hospital and greeted dozens of children Thursday morning. Their mission: to make children happy!

Charleigh Adams,7, came face-to-face with the Ninja Turtle. She's been a little scared because she's scheduled to have surgery, but that's what heroes do: They help you find your courage. "They fight crime," she said. Charleigh also loves the Hulk, "because he likes to smash."

"This is the best day ever," said Evan Davis,5, as he watched the Hulk come down the side of the building. "I get to see all the superheroes and there's more surprises in store for me!" he said.

Evan's mom, Loretta Davis, told Fox 8 that this was a big day for Evan. "After 10 surgeries and 10 different doctors for him to come down and see all the superheroes and not have to be going to the hospital to be poked and prodded, stuck with a needle for a tube, he's over the moon," she said.

The superheroes' usual day jobs are cleaning the hospital's windows.
