CLEVELAND-- Just a week after John Nyerghes was reunited with his best friend from the Army, his dog went missing.

He and Ranger, a five-year old Belgian Malinois, served together in Afghanistan for a year.  Then, they went their separate ways.

The two were reunited at Hopkins Airport last week, after Ranger was flown in by a group that helps reunite war dogs with their former handlers.

Nyerghes told FOX 8 that around noon Wednesday, Ranger got loose. John said his stepmother accidentally let Ranger out of the backyard. The dog was last seen in the area of West 64th Street.

By Thursday morning, the dog was found at the Cleveland City Kennel.
