AKRON, Ohio -- Day three is underway in the trial of Kenan Ivery, charged in the shooting death of an off-duty Akron police officer.

Justin Winebrenner was killed in November 2014 at Papa Don's Pub. Ivery has admitted to the shooting but pleaded not guilty to an aggravated murder charge, saying he shot in self-defense.

Wednesday, footage was released from a surveillance camera that reportedly shows Ivery running from the scene.

As of noon Wednesday, two witnesses were called to the stand; both were first responders from the Akron Police Department.

One was an officer who first ran over to where Winebrenner was shot and who then started a K-9 search for Ivery.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty if Ivery is convicted of the most serious charges.

Two bar patrons and two victims were also set to take the stand Wednesday.
