CLEVELAND - A FOX 8 I-Team investigation has found armed sheriff’s deputies driving around Cuyahoga County executive Armond Budish, and at times, even his wife.

This has gone on so much that we found deputies on the security detail getting paid for hundreds of hours worth of overtime.

Of course, the cost comes directly back to taxpayers.

Budish refused to answer the I-Team’s questions. Then a sheriff’s department supervisor told us it was the duty of the department to protect the head of the county government.

He also suggested the security measures for Budish and his family could expand. But first, county public relations officials produced heavily-blacked out records for us, only produced others after repeated requests, and questioned why we would ask at all about security for the county executive.
